What I WORE: HOLIDAY in BLACK.

They say that HOLIDAY’s require warmer colors such as RED..
But I’d say get out of the box and wear something dark..
Like BLACK..
Black is the absence of COLOR..
Absence of LIGHT..
So for my third look for the holidays I’ve prepared something perfect for my younger readers..
I’m wearing a BLACK ensemble which is very SPORTY and DAPPER at the same time..

The Key Pieces here are the VARSITY JACKET (Blued) paired with DARK PANTS (Bangkok)..
As I always tell you guys - a TOP and TROUSERS that are in the same hue makes us look taller and slimmer.. haha!
Then I chose this dressy BROWN BROGUES (SM Department Store) then PRINTED SOCKS..
Notice how the printed socks with a pop of color makes everything youthful and fun..
And lastly this cute BAG that looks like a “BAON-an” haha!
Got this from our trip to Bangkok a year ago..
I just felt like it would look cute.. you know?haha..

This look is perfect for a School Christmas party..
Or a date out with friends..
Something casual and comfy – not too stiff but would look great for guys in school.

So I hope this one helped you guys out in choosing a look for the holidays..

Have fun dressing up STALKERS!

STALK FEATURE: Denim Overload

Denim is a classic type of fabric that is normally used as pants or what we call jeans..
It is a piece that was normally worn by men in the past who often works in construction..
Every decade REINVENTION of denim has always took place..
BLAZER..
SHIRT..
POLOS..
BAG..
DRESS..
JUMPER..
FADED..
COLORED..
And a lot more..

Denim is something that everyone would love to wear because it’s comfortable and low maintenance..
A year ago I worked on a streetstyle project with a glossy magazine and promised some folks that I will post it on my blog if ever that it or it won’t come out of the magazine..

So here are some shots of these cool kids rocked their pair of denim..

Look#1

HIGH WAIST SHORTS looks great when you pair it with heels..

Look#2

Rockin the denim shirt like Kanye.

Look#3

Men's shorts paired with printed tanks.

Look#4

Denim pants + tucked long sleeved chinos and leather shoes aint that bad after all.

Look#5

You can never go wrong with Dr. Martens paired with dark denim and printed men'spolo.

So that's it for our denim lookbook today STALKERS!
I hope that these looks did inspire you to get up and dress up..

Enjoy your humpday everyone! :)

 P.S

What I WORE: Animal Print On Guys..

A couple of months ago I saw this friend of mine who was wearing a LEOPARD printed pants from Forever 21 men..
And I started to ask myself “Can I pull this look off?”..
My mind was screaming NOOOOOO.. haha
but I got challenged..
can men pull off an ANIMAL PRINT?
my answer today is YES..
but this is not the kind of animal print that women wear..
it’s more of a PHOTO PRINT..
Anyway let me show you instead..

I bought this TANK from a bazaar near my office for a very cheap price..
because I like the SWAG of this shirt and the QUALITY as well..

So for today’s look I’m wearing this dark blue SPORTY JACKET matched with TROUSERS with the same color..
then this CHEETAH PRINTED TANK..
paired the whole look with this cool RUBBER SHOES (Topman) ..
lastly I added some ACCESSORIES such as EYE GLASSES and a WRISTWATCH to complete the whole look..

So that’s it for this week’s what I wore feature..
Just remember that when using OVERPOWERING PRINTS on your outfit ensure that there are minimal stuff that’s going on with the whole look..
Like how I made sure that the jacket and pants are in the SAME SHADE and how the COLORS of the shoes won’t go against the whole point of this look..

What I WORE: “JERSEYS & BROGUES"

Gone are the days when JERSEYS are only worn inside the court when you play BALL..
I remember the days when I’m all sweaty wearing those JERSEY shirts back in high school..
Now JERSEYS are re-imaged into something that’s with a little more SWAG..
It’s COMFY but at the same time it’s LOW MAINTENANCE..
WASH and WEAR..
No need to IRON..
Perfect for the WEEKEND GETAWAY..

WARNING:
Jersey’s wont absorb your SWEAT and since It’s quite HUMID here in the country then you might want to consider wearing an INSIDE SHIRT..

So for today’s look we need a  JERSEY shirt.. (TOPMAN)
I bought this from their CRAZY mid-year SALE about a month ago..
Then DENIM pants (HUMAN)..

Black LEATHER BROGUES (BENCH)..
I saw these from their instagram account and I knew from that point that I wanted them..
my brown brogues are getting a little old and worn so I knew that this purchase will do wonders for my closet..

you could use this pair for your FORMAL GET-UP in the OFFICE..

CASUAL LOOK in the CAMPUS..

and your STREET STYLE outfit on WEEKENDS..

Then ACCESSORIES (to add a touch of DETAILS..)
such as BAG (METRO)..
a BLACK CAP..
bold WRIST WATCH.. (JAPAN)
and PRINTED SOCKS.. (MEMO)

and as I always say I try to make everything MINIMAL by not putting TOO MUCH COLORS..
I just went around the palette of BLUE.. BLACK.. and WHITE..

So that’s it guys for this week’s “WHAT I WORE”..

a STALKER’s blog: “CHANGES & COMFORT ZONES”

We often get SCARED of CHANGES..
because we’re used to being around our COMFORT ZONES..
when we we’re BORN, our mother’s WOMB was our first ever COMFORT ZONE..
(learned this from BO Sanchez..)
imagine your FOOD already chewed for you..
the PERFECT TEMPERATURE inside your mom’s tummy..
It’s like PARADISE..
but the moment that the BABY gets EVICTED inside the mother’s WOMB..
CHANGE happens..
you would suddenly FEEL the COLD temperature in the operating room..
BRIGHT LIGHTS that seems too harsh for your SMALL EYES..
then that TAP on your DELICATE BUTT by that NURSE..
It is just TERRIBLE..
that’s when we START CRYING..
but as HOURS..
DAYS..
and WEEKS pass by..
we get USED to that CHANGE..
and that’s when we START GROWING..
that’s my POINT..

“In order for you to GROW you have to get out of that WOMB and EXPERIENCE CHANGE”

Let me tell you a story of our HAIR STYLIST named JOVY..
Jovy has been a hairstylist of a famous salon (in the south..) for 18 years..
most of that salon’s clients are coming back because of his amazing SERVICE..
he can do crazy TRANSPORMATIONS with your hair..
and this is why the clients love him..
but one day he had a terrible argument with his boss due to some misunderstandings..
which led a TERRIBLE week of BAD VIBES..
and as he reached his PATIENCE limit..
he decided to QUIT..
his wife got FURIOUS because of the fact that they have KIDS to FEED..
and this SCARED them both so much..
but instead of WORRYING..
JOVY decided to START on his OWN..
he opened up a small SALON near their place..
which ATE up all their SAVINGS..
the first couple of weeks are the SCARIEST part of this drastic CHANGE..
but a month and a half later he got surprised that most of his LOYAL customers started calling him for his SERVICE..
and the WORD of MOUTH of how good he is with what he does spread slowly around..
and SLOWLY his business STARTED GROWING..
Now JOVY is finally HAPPY because he’s no longer SCARED..
He’s much STRONGER now..
more CONFIDENT..
all because he got out of his COMFORT ZONE..

Sometimes GOD gives us crazy TRIALS..
not because of PUNISHMENT..
but because he wants us to LEARN..
and to GROW..
just remember that TRIALS would always AIM to STRENGTHEN us..
makes us CLOSER to our FAMILIES and FRIENDS..
and most importantly it makes us CLOSER to GOD..

Enjoy your AMAZING MONDAY Stalkers!

What I WORE: Pastels & Fire Trees

I have not gone to JAPAN..
or have seen any real CHERRY BLOSSOMS..
that is the reason why these FIRE TREES are such a fascination to me..
So I told myself I’d have to get a “WHAT I WORE” shoot somewhere with a FIRE TREE on the background.. haha
and yes we've found a couple of trees near the parking lot somewhere in the metro..

So let’s talk about this LOOK for today..
I’m not fond of too much COLORS..
you’d notice that I’m usually inclined with more NAVY BLUE’s..
BLACK and WHITE..
and DENIM..
just because these colors are easier to manage..
they don’t attract too much dirt..

but PASTELS?

It is crazy to maintain these types of colors..
So I got inspired by KEN.. haha
Yeah KEN of BARBIE that day..

So I chose to wear this PINK COAT (Penshoppe) over a WHITE SHIRT..
Paired with this BLUE SWIM SHORTS (Cotton On) and BLUE GREEN ESPADRILLES (H&M)..
and some ACCESSORIES such as this BROWN LEATHER NECKLACE (Bangkok) and BROWN LEATHER BAG (Marikina)..
I still tried to manage the whole look by keeping the main colors between BLUE, PINK and NEUTRALS such as white and brown to make it more united..
that’s the exact principle that I apply over STALK’s magazine covers..
each color should complement the whole package..

Anyway that’s it for today’s LOOK..
the KEY to looking GOOD is knowing what will look good in you..
so you have to TRY and TRY until you find your own STYLE..

BTW I made a new banner for our Facebook page..
Look it up: STALK ONLINE MAGAZINE

What I WORE: “RESORT LUXE”

Yes summer is indeed over in the country but we can’t deny the fact that our country is so famous because of our amazing BEACHES! So I’m posting yet another LOOK that we could wear in a DATE? or perhaps or a CASUAL MEETING in a beach setting.

If you guys are wondering where was this taken? It is in CANYON COVE , Batangas. It was during our recent trip there with my cousin Kim (which was just loads of FUN!).
Anyway I’ve come to realize that the best VACATIONS are not about the DESTINATION..
but rather the EXPERIENCE that we have in every place that we go to..
and the PEOPLE that we choose to have each experience with. .

which makes it PRICELESS!

DETAILS:
I’ve decided to shoot this newly purchased CHECKERED BLAZER (Moogao)of mine with this grey short sleeved shirt (Topman) and this NAVY BLUE PANTS (Bangkok)and that same MANDALS (or men’s sandals.. from BANGKOK as well).

KEYPOINTS:
  • ·         Choose the RIGHT FIT that compliments your BOD
  • ·         Choose the RIGHT COLORS that compliments your SKIN TONE
  • ·         and lastly DRESS APPROPRIATELY

What I WORE: “COUNTING STARS”

Hi STALKERS it’s been awhile since my last outfit post.
My schedule is just crazy lately..
but thank GOD for giving us amazing WEEKENDS..
to have FUN and ENJOY LIFE.

Anyway almost a year ago I was given an opportunity to judge a FASHION SHOW for the high school students of “Colegio De San Agustin” in Makati..
and the experience is just a DREAM COME TRUE..
just like being NIGEL BARKER (photographer judge on America’s Next Top Model) haha..
special thanks to my good friend Lhyn Austerio for the trust.

So the question is what do you wear on an event like this?
Since I am a “JUDGE” then I have to be a little formal..
But since it’s a fashion event as well then I have to be (a little..) un-PREDICTABLE.
So I had no choice but to wear my only neutral casual coat (Penshoppe) paired with a button down white long sleeves (Bangkok)  then a printed tie (Bangkok)..
Then since I have to spice this look up I chose this unusual colored trouser  (Bangkok)..
Yeah it’s in a shocking red shade..haha
then lastly these Brogues (SM Department Store)which is a MUST have for every guy out there.

So again the key into this whole look is to manage the COLOR SCHEME (Neutrals + Color Pop) and the PRINTS (no over powering print on print)..
so that It would blend together into a clean & polished look that guys could definitely sport on special occasions.

So that’s it for now STALKERS!
Enjoy dressing up for SUCCESS.

What I WORE: SPORTY LUXE

I was NEVER the SPORTY type.
I am COMPETITIVE..
but NOT sporty.
I love ADVENTURES..
but not with SPORTS.
It could be because of the fact that I had really BAD EXPERIENCES with sports..
And I easily get injured..
It was just not for ME.

Well I am writing this blog not because of sharing my past with sports but because I hated the fact that the only shoes I had back then for everything was my PAIR of BASKETBALL SHOES.
Well not that I am complaining. Haha
It was just NOT ME.
Baggy tops + Basketball shoes + huge denim pants .. ? CRAZY!

So here’s a look that I came up with that we guys could wear with our RUBBER SHOES in a more fashionable way (Just so that you won’t look like you just got out off the court) haha.
So I paired this RUNNING SHOES of mine with some PRINTED SOCKS..
Then I chose to wear this cute SHORTS from (Folded & Hung) then this old KNITTED SWEATER from (Regatta)and this long-sleeved shirt under just to create that PREPPY JOCK look.
I just had to make sure that the details don’t over power each other.
The technique is BOLD PRINTS + MICRO PRINTS..
Choice of COLOR is also IMPORTANT.
So for this look I chose BLUE as the one TONE that would make it more PUT-TOGETHER.
And oh lastly some NERDY GLASSES and that GOLD wrist watch (Casio) --which is a come back..silver is just becoming too overrated in the accessories world.. and that's to complete the whole look.

What I WORE: Maroon Coat + Brown Leather Bag (look #2)

Hi STALKERS! I am finally back on the radar after being sooo busy with work and some events that I had to attend to.. (feeling celebrity lang.. haha) anyways I am back from a recent holy week trip that I would post in a few days..
I just feel REFRESHED..
And REVIVED..
Specially that we’ve celebrated EASTER this past Sunday at the Mall Of Asia ARENA with Brother Bo Sanchez’s “The Grand Easter FEAST” where I’ve learned so much about GOD and his unconditional love for us.

So anyway I feel sooo INSPIRED to blog today. I am starting with this collaboration of mine with my good friend ELMER about his awesome locally made bags from Marikina.

Yeah It is local and that’s why I am blogging about it.

Well as you guys noticed one STALK’s vision and mission is to help promote local talent.
And truly these bags deserve a spot on our list.

Check out some of my personal favorites from the collection.

Anyway here’s the second look from the “MAROON FIVE” challenge where I need to create five different looks using this maroon coat that I’ve recently bought for a wedding of a good friend of mine.
For this look my BASE was the same COAT + NAVY PANTS.
Then I wore this pullovers that I bought from a TIANGGE in Tagaytay last year which just makes the look more of “IN THE NAVY”..
Then these brown leather BROGUES from SM Department store.
And I just accessorized the whole look with..
brown leather bag + clear glasses
Where can you wear this?
It’s perfect for the OFFICE. (I do wear this in the office myself..)
Wear it on Sundays at the CHURCH (given that your church is air-conditioned..)
Or wear it on casual BUSINESS MEETINGS or even around the CAMPUS during your SUMMER classes.

Just always remember to wear something that fits you and your personality and I’m sure you’ll definitely stand out with this look.

What I WORE: “Maroon Five Challenge”

I recently got a wedding invite from a good friend of mine..

It was my Dubai based DJ (previously from LoveRadio) “Phine” a.k.a. “Maria Maldita”..

And to my surprise the wedding invite says that we can’t wear anything that’s not part of the “ROYGBIV”

R(ed), O(range), Y(ellow), G(reen), B(lue), I(indigo), V(iolet)

Whaaat??? No BLACK, GREY, WHITE, BROWN or NUDE colors??

Sorry but I just can’t imagine going to a wedding in a rainbow colored outfit.

You see.. looking GREAT in a wedding (for me..) is a must!

WHY?

You’d be photographed most likely..

You’d be a party pooper if you won’t say yes to a photograph..

it will be around social media..

INSTAGRAM.. FACEBOOK.. TWITTER..

and worst printed as a memorabilia that will be there for a long period of time. That is why it is very important that I’d present myself well during such events.

So I was thinking of what I would wear since I have two existing colored pants from my last trip to Bangkok. It was either navy “BLUE” or “RED” velvet. However I felt like most guys would be wearing blue and I’d like to challenge myself this time.. So I chose RED. Then I had to look for a red coat (in the same HUE) to match the pants.. and yes I found one from a cheap boutique called “MOGAO”.

I learnt about it from a good friend of mine from Guam who often visits the country and is fond of looking for great finds here. I got the coat for only P699! Yeah.. you guys read it correctly. I got a cheap coat with a great fit and material.

So for this issue I’ll show you guys FIVE ways of mix matching your stuff with this cool find of mine.

For the first look I chose to pair the coat with a printed white shirt (Uniqlo) + Navy blue pants (Bangkok) + Brown Suede boots (Bangkok) –

I would want the look to remain “CLASSY” and a little “TRENDY” at the same time without going over the top. You guys may opt to wear this around the mall, when you feel like going to a movie date or lunch out with friends or even a casual dinner date with the one you love. I think this look can be worn in your school (especially when the rooms are air-conditioned..haha). For me I chose to wear this last Sunday on my weekly meeting with God at #TheFeast .. I just want to look extra special for that special guy up there who makes me feel loved.

So there you go guys with my first of the five looks for this issue. I’ll be posting the rest at least every week to inspire you guys to dress up.

Have fun reading STALKERS!

Volume III Issue II: “Little BLACK Riding Hood”

“It was my parents who decided to call me YAPO.. how or why is still a mystery to me.”

I met “YAPO” a year ago.

It was when I had a project with STATUS Magazine to find fashionable individuals for their street style feature called “GoSEE”. I was just walking around a mall in the south and this amazingly fierce gal in black passed by.. I just knew at that moment that the mag would love her style.. and yes they did. Later on her look was published on the mag and the rest was history.

What people don’t know about “YAPO” is that she is the complete opposite of how she packages herself through her clothes..

she’s SWEET..

BUBBLY..

FUN..

HUMBLE..

which really makes her interesting. I remember having that crazy panic attack back then when I needed to ask her to pose for STATUS’s GoSEE. I seriously felt like a STALKER who checks her out. Haha! Anyways I asked her on how her style evolved she said that when her father died they (with her little sister) lived with some of their relatives while their mom was working abroad.

So when shopping I don't have someone who would say "you should wear this" or "This would suit you better.." I just buy what appeals to me and wear it.

She just buys what appeals to her and when she started blogging her readers started giving her feedback about how they liked her unique sense of style.. so she worked on that unique look of hers.
Yapo defines her style as a mixture of Japanese fashion, street style and avant-garde which only favors black and white.

She adds..
“I wouldn't exactly call my style Goth although it is the easiest word I can find when strangers approach me and ask.”

I remember her telling me stories about how random strangers and street vendors would try to tease or make fun of her unusual style (to the extent that they would sometimes poke her accessories and pretend that they got hurt)  she would just IGNORE them since at the end of the they their FEEDBACK won’t matter to her.

So I started wondering on how do boys react to this UNIQUE STYLE? She says that her boyfriend does not mind at all. I felt that confidence inside her that you don’t usually see with other girls.
She says..

“I don't know. Since I know my style isn't for everyone, I learned not to think about how boys (or girls) would react to me nor wait for them to react or to express it.”

She explains that if ever that she would have a daughter in the future.. she might not encourage her daughter to pursue this style but as long as she would find joy and fulfillment in it and remains true to herself then it would be FINE.

If you guys think that her style was this dark when she started then think twice. Yapo used to be really colorful back then (like powerpuff girl colorful.. haha) and she was chubby cute too! (sorry you might kill me now..haha). I guess her fascination with a dark character from “Lord of the Rings” is what turned her into this cool dark girl.  Most of YAPO’s influences now are from bloggers such as Shui Tsang (shuitsang.com) and Watarubob (@watarubob on IG) who are both known for STREET STYLE. Yapo has been blogging for a couple of years now at www.yaporu,net which already has gained its own niche of readers from all over the globe. Recently she had the opportunity to shine brighter as local accessories brand “OS” had her model some of their coolest pieces.

“Youth is so beautiful let us not be afraid of expressing ourselves and experimenting. We all co-exist and deep inside us is a hope we can change the world into better no matter how small we are.”

She says when asked If what’s the legacy that she would want to leave her readers. This is the reason why YAPO is just a perfect cover girl for STALK. She is just full of substance and she believes that her fashion could inspire a lot of kids that It’s ok to be DIFFERENT.

She makes “DIFFERENT” such a positive term..

And that’s why she’s STALK worthy.
