What I WORE: “JERSEYS & BROGUES"

Gone are the days when JERSEYS are only worn inside the court when you play BALL..
I remember the days when I’m all sweaty wearing those JERSEY shirts back in high school..
Now JERSEYS are re-imaged into something that’s with a little more SWAG..
It’s COMFY but at the same time it’s LOW MAINTENANCE..
WASH and WEAR..
No need to IRON..
Perfect for the WEEKEND GETAWAY..

WARNING:
Jersey’s wont absorb your SWEAT and since It’s quite HUMID here in the country then you might want to consider wearing an INSIDE SHIRT..

So for today’s look we need a  JERSEY shirt.. (TOPMAN)
I bought this from their CRAZY mid-year SALE about a month ago..
Then DENIM pants (HUMAN)..

Black LEATHER BROGUES (BENCH)..
I saw these from their instagram account and I knew from that point that I wanted them..
my brown brogues are getting a little old and worn so I knew that this purchase will do wonders for my closet..

you could use this pair for your FORMAL GET-UP in the OFFICE..

CASUAL LOOK in the CAMPUS..

and your STREET STYLE outfit on WEEKENDS..

Then ACCESSORIES (to add a touch of DETAILS..)
such as BAG (METRO)..
a BLACK CAP..
bold WRIST WATCH.. (JAPAN)
and PRINTED SOCKS.. (MEMO)

and as I always say I try to make everything MINIMAL by not putting TOO MUCH COLORS..
I just went around the palette of BLUE.. BLACK.. and WHITE..

So that’s it guys for this week’s “WHAT I WORE”..

What I WORE: Pastels & Fire Trees

I have not gone to JAPAN..
or have seen any real CHERRY BLOSSOMS..
that is the reason why these FIRE TREES are such a fascination to me..
So I told myself I’d have to get a “WHAT I WORE” shoot somewhere with a FIRE TREE on the background.. haha
and yes we've found a couple of trees near the parking lot somewhere in the metro..

So let’s talk about this LOOK for today..
I’m not fond of too much COLORS..
you’d notice that I’m usually inclined with more NAVY BLUE’s..
BLACK and WHITE..
and DENIM..
just because these colors are easier to manage..
they don’t attract too much dirt..

but PASTELS?

It is crazy to maintain these types of colors..
So I got inspired by KEN.. haha
Yeah KEN of BARBIE that day..

So I chose to wear this PINK COAT (Penshoppe) over a WHITE SHIRT..
Paired with this BLUE SWIM SHORTS (Cotton On) and BLUE GREEN ESPADRILLES (H&M)..
and some ACCESSORIES such as this BROWN LEATHER NECKLACE (Bangkok) and BROWN LEATHER BAG (Marikina)..
I still tried to manage the whole look by keeping the main colors between BLUE, PINK and NEUTRALS such as white and brown to make it more united..
that’s the exact principle that I apply over STALK’s magazine covers..
each color should complement the whole package..

Anyway that’s it for today’s LOOK..
the KEY to looking GOOD is knowing what will look good in you..
so you have to TRY and TRY until you find your own STYLE..

BTW I made a new banner for our Facebook page..

STALK PORTRAITS: ROCK and ROLL PUNK

I met this young girl in a famous bookstore last year in the south..
It took me a while to actually talk to her and get her to pose for an actual stranger..
I just don't want to look like a complete stalker (which ironically the title of my mag) haha..
it's just that not everyone can pull off this METALLIC SKIRT..
so It gave me that extra urge to go and use my convincing powers on her (plus i need it for a project that I was working on back then for a fashion magazine)
and I can't seem to remember the rest.. haha
sorry.. anyway I promised that I will post this on my blog..

So here it is.. :)

What I WORE: “COUNTING STARS”

Hi STALKERS it’s been awhile since my last outfit post.
My schedule is just crazy lately..
but thank GOD for giving us amazing WEEKENDS..
to have FUN and ENJOY LIFE.

Anyway almost a year ago I was given an opportunity to judge a FASHION SHOW for the high school students of “Colegio De San Agustin” in Makati..
and the experience is just a DREAM COME TRUE..
just like being NIGEL BARKER (photographer judge on America’s Next Top Model) haha..
special thanks to my good friend Lhyn Austerio for the trust.

So the question is what do you wear on an event like this?
Since I am a “JUDGE” then I have to be a little formal..
But since it’s a fashion event as well then I have to be (a little..) un-PREDICTABLE.
So I had no choice but to wear my only neutral casual coat (Penshoppe) paired with a button down white long sleeves (Bangkok)  then a printed tie (Bangkok)..
Then since I have to spice this look up I chose this unusual colored trouser  (Bangkok)..
Yeah it’s in a shocking red shade..haha
then lastly these Brogues (SM Department Store)which is a MUST have for every guy out there.

So again the key into this whole look is to manage the COLOR SCHEME (Neutrals + Color Pop) and the PRINTS (no over powering print on print)..
so that It would blend together into a clean & polished look that guys could definitely sport on special occasions.

So that’s it for now STALKERS!
Enjoy dressing up for SUCCESS.

STALKER’s SHOPPING GUIDE: “Flower Power” This SUMMER.

I’ve gone around some shops over the past weekend to check out some must have’s this coming SUMMER – I’m sure most of you guys are already planning for a summer getaway and I’m sure you guys would want to take photos of what you’re wearing that day. It’s OOTD time again!

So for my first stop. It's Forever 21 men.

I just love the fact that this shop is just affordable. I mean it’s not cheap but definitely the quality of the clothes is just great.

They have cool printed tanks.. boat shoes and floral printed bags that are just DOPE!

Espadrilles are still very much SUMMER worthy!

Then I checked out ZARA. The good thing with this brand is that you can never go wrong with the quality and the textiles that they produce. The only thing is that the price can sometimes be too much. Anyways I found this adorable floral printed varsity jacket and i died.

Next stop is the U.K brand TOPMAN. There's no doubt that this brand is just trendy and dapper at the same time. The fit of clothes are just right for Asian guys like us. So I went around and checked out this floral printed baseball shirt and some really cool hats fit for summer.

Then I also checked out COTTON ON. This brand is just affordable and budget friendly. Perfect for STUDENTS who would want to dress their way up to SUCCESS. Anyways the sad news is that I only found these shorts cool and nothing else.(for men at least..)

There's this shop called H.E for MANGO that I checked out. They have more matured Items in their shops. The price is a little too much as well (if you are on a budget) but I could definitely tell that their goods are done with quality. So I checked them out and found this nice colored blazer which is perfect for school or for work.. or a picnic on a sunny day perhaps? and not to mention these adorable espadrilles.

Then let's go local with a few of my favorites. First stop is OXYGEN. This brand just keeps pushing them selves to the edge with their high fashion ensembles and pieces. My favorite was this Aztec printed bag. It is just so cool. Definitely perfect for that beach outing plan of yours this SUMMER.

Next one is BENCH. I have to be honest (I love bench..) but their clothes do need a little tweaking here and there.. however the underwear designs of Bench in undeniably good and affordable. So I found some cool floral printed bags instead perfect for SUMMER classes!
and I found some cool shoes too that you guys could use for school as well..It may not be beach friendly but i think it would look good on (bright colored) shorts too.

Then I visited PENSHOPPE as well. They normally would have good quality of long sleeved polos and jackets (that I would normally look for..) however sadly I only found some cute beach shorts that are affordable.

So this SUMMER just make sure that you guys find the right fit and a piece that fits your budget. Just buy something that is needed and necessary. Lastly just find the right amount of prints will you please? haha.. so that's it for now!

Enjoy SHOPPING Stalkers!

What I WORE: PROM SEASON

Hi STALKERS it has been a crazy month for me.. trying to balance everything from the office to blogging and working on the next cover of STALK (which is still a work in progress).
Since we are celebrating "LOVE" this month then it only means that the prom season has begun. Back in high school "PROM" has been very memorable occasion for me.. it was LIFE CHANGING. I was a late bloomer back then.. I guess it helped that I did not rush on "GROWING UP". I remember that I was still playing with action figured toys back in second year high school.. dressing up was not really my priority back then. Until my third year in high school.. things started to changed slowly.. I was becoming more conscious of how I look and how  people see me. I started "DIE-eting" - since I was overweight back in high school fitting in my clothes was such a challenge.. then PROM came and I won the title as the "PROM PRINCE".. I am still clueless up til this date on how was I able to get that title. All I can think of is that they might have seen the "TRANSFORMATION" of myself that night. So my goal this month is to "INSPIRE" most of my readers with ideas on what to wear to the big PROM NIGHT.
So here's the first IDEA.. I'm wearing my most worn item in my closet which is this "GREY COAT" (Penshoppe) which I think is just basic for men's clothing for PROM. I paired it with this black pull overs (ZARA) and plain black trousers (Bangkok) and these BROGUES from SM Department store. This look is perfect for boys who is on the "CHUBBY" side. The all black top and bottom just creates that slim and taller figure and the neutral toned coat just adds a kick to the whole look. I used a brown belt that matches this BROGUES (SM Department Store) and lastly to complete the  whole look accessorize with a neutral toned watch and you've got yourself a dapper look for prom.

I'll be posting more looks for the next weeks to come.
Thanks to my lil sis Lovely Faundo for these shots.

What I WORE: “Classic Vs. Trendy”

Ever since my college days – dressing up has been a big part of who I am.. and discovering one’s own unique style definitely takes time. The big challenge for me back then was availability of “funds” –and im sure most students could relate to this. Well back then I would always invest on a good pair of “DENIM JEANS” (P400 from Bench if its on sale) and a couple of plain black and white shirts – then I’d usually go to “Vintage Shops” or what we call “Ukay-Ukay” to find amazingly cheap “Jackets”. I just usually work on the styling to make it my own. Lastly the biggest challenge for me back then was buying  “SHOES”—there wasn’t enough (cheap) brands to choose from back then since my shoe size was size 11 already back in college. I was just thankful that I had relatives in the U.S who were kind enough to send me pairs of shoes at least once or twice a year.

So my point is that it took me awhile to build my closet - It all started with looking for basic pieces with the right fit.. and then after that’s the time when you should buy “TREND”y stuff so you could easily mix and match all your basics with the trendy ones -- Since “TRENDS” are usually “FADS” or “CRAZE”; things that won’t last that long because they are only popular for a short period of time (not good investments)
Anyways here’s what I wore that I’d like to share with y’all –I started this look with The classics / basic ones like the Brown Jacket that I got on SALE (Penshoppe) and plain dark blue trousers (from Bangkok)and of course my plastic eyewear that I brought from a TIANGGE. All of these are pretty much basics which could be worn a thousand times with a whole kind of looks –all with GOOD quality and they are crazy AFFORDABLE.
Then let’s talk about the “TREND” – starts with this micro printed long sleeved top (from BANGKOK) –looks pretty basic but the micro prints make it such a fad. Then these brown boots (also from Bangkok) that I accessorized with these printed socks (from OXYGEN) to create that edgy vibe to my usual preppy look.
So my challenge to you guys is to invest on basic items (which shouldn’t be expensive)-so that you have a working closet which has pieces that you could mix and match for the years to come. Just make sure that you get the right fit and quality and Im sure that you’re on your way to the STYLISH person that you could be.

Special Thanks to my little sister Lovely Faundo for taking these shots on the amazing Manila Film Center.

Have fun reading and dressing up STALKERS!
